Our family and Ancestors is a field of activity and a coherent entity. When that coherence is breached in anyway- by someone dying young, committing suicide, being incarcerated, leaving, emigrating, being dishonoured, addictions, illnesses, abortions, miscarriages, accidents – so many ways- the nature of the event, as well as the trauma around it, gets caught in the field and acts as an attractor for later generational members who then find themselves acting in a similar way, for no apparent reason. 

If, for example, someone in an earlier generation is given away at birth – then someone in a later generation can act and feel as if they have been abandoned even without knowing of the existence of the earlier member.

The pattern gets frozen in time, and can stay in the family field forever, unless it is recognized and resolved by a member of that family. I work with each person individually within the group and the sessions are more like magical shamanic healing rites, using chant and family constellations the sessions are like oracles and allow me to guide the process to often quite astonishing and magical resolutions. 

The effects on other members – even if not present- can be immediate. I had someone doing this work with me over a weekend – as she arrived on the second day she announced that her Mother’s 6 brothers and sisters, from whom she had been estranged for 27 year had ALL telephoned her while we had been working the day before!

You can do this work alone – or you can bring and work with family members. And of course, our family doesn’t need to be living to do this. Its like working in the present to change the past and the future, and we really have a responsibility to do this for future generations. You don’t even have to have a dysfunctional or crazy family – though we all do in some way. I see it as a kind of essential house-work for mortals.
