Sept. 7 - Kymatica

Kymatica ventures into the realm of cymatics and shamanic practices. It offers insight into the human psyche and discusses matters of spirituality, altered states of consciousness and much more! In a world where apocalyptic catastrophes seem inevitable, we must look at the solutions in a whole new manner. As the latest quantum mechanics and metaphysics are just being discovered, we notice that we are not moving forward, but returning to a consciousness that the ancient shamans, mystics and sages have left for us. In this new age, we will discover that we are all one mind, one organism, and one spirit.

Sept. 14 - Lucky People Center International

Awarded the Certificate of Merit from the San Francisco International Film Festival, this film takes us on a journey around the world, navigated through people's inner life, using music and rhythm. The people we meet open doors to belief and life-affirming vigour, and embody diversity in a world characterised by unrelenting change. Dreams, a sense of quest and critical thinking are seen to be matters of concern for all life on earth. We encounter voodoo powers, the investigative methods of a brain research scientist, Buddhism's view of death, a former porn actress and her thoughts on pleasure, a banker and his ecstatic needs, and much more, all held together by musical rhythms and the song of the gibbon.

Sept. 21 - The Power of the Powerless

Winner of numerous awards, and narrated by Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons, this film explores Czechoslovakia's legacy of communist rule and the struggle against it: From the iron-fisted Stalinist government of the 1950s; through the vibrant and politically active Prague Spring of the 1960s; the hard-line backlash of the 1970s; and finally the bloodless revolution of 1989. At the heart of the film is the story of blacklisted playwright Václav Havel and his fellow dissidents who, for two decades, spoke out against totalitarianism. The film culminates with the student-led movement in Prague, which sparked 1989’s Velvet Revolution and drew a half-million people into the streets, catapulting Václav Havel into the presidency.

Sept. 28 - Sounds Like A Revolution

Documents the rise of a new generation of activist musicians who are living proof that music is a powerful tool in the ongoing struggle for social change. From the Dixie Chicks to Michael Franti to the punk band Anti-Flag, artists across the musical spectrum recount their motivations and struggles over the last decade, in a post-9/11 world where dissent has been silenced and censorship is commonplace. No ordinary music doc, this inspiring film is a collection of live performances, political rallies, music videos and uncensored commentaries from some of the most outspoken icons in the business, and helps us to understand our world and find the courage to speak out about issues that concern us all.

Members of the cast and crew will be in attendance to share their experiences and reflect on the role of music in the protest movement.

Oct. 5 - Water: The Great Mystery

Water is the most amazing yet least studied substance. From times immemorial, scientists, philosophers and theologians tried to understand its explicit and implicit properties, which are phenomenal, beyond the common physical laws of nature. Featuring Dr. Masaru Emoto, and with recent, breathtaking discoveries by researchers worldwide from Russia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Israel, the USA, Britain, Austria, Japan, Argentina, China and Tibet, the arguments expound upon unexpected and challenging assumptions enlightening many years of research to open humankind to new horizons, such as the applications of structured water in agriculture, or the use of water in treatment for the most serious diseases and include implications that suggest water has the ability to convey messages faster than light.

Oct. 12 - Numen: The Nature of Plants

Numen, defined as the animating force in nature, focuses on the healing power of plants and the natural world. Featuring stunning footage of medicinal plants and thought-provoking interviews with numerous doctors, researchers, botanists, herbalists, authors and scientists, the film calls for a re-awakening of traditional knowledge about plants and their uses. Numen brings the same awareness to medicine and the medical industry that the organic food movement has brought to food and the food industry. The film encourages viewers to think deeply about the sources of their medicine and how their healthcare choices affect themselves and the larger web of life, and inspires us to deepen our relationship with the natural world.

Oct. 19 - DMT: The Spirit Molecule

Canadian Premiere Screening!

The Spirit Molecule investigates dimethyltryptamine (DMT), an endogenous psychoactive compound, which exists in humans as well as in numerous species of plants and animals. The film traces Dr. Rick Strassman's government sanctioned human DMT research and its many trials, tribulations, achievements, and inconceivable realizations. This includes looking deeper into the intense psychedelic experience that DMT causes when consumed, and examines DMT’s scientific, spiritual, and cultural relevance. Ultimately, The Spirit Molecule explores the connections between cutting-edge neuroscience, quantum physics, and human spirituality. The subtle combination of science, spirituality, and philosophy make this film, and the DMT experience, provocative. It results in an abundance of incredible ideas and theories that could alter the way humans understand the universe and their relationship to it.

Oct. 26 - The Living Matrix

Winner of the Visionary Award, Coalition of Visionary Resources, The Living Matrix is a film about the new science of healing, and uncovers new ideas about the intricate web of factors that determine our health. Through discussions with a group of dedicated scientists, psychologists, bioenergetic researchers and holistic practitioners, healing potentials are being found in new places, and energetic information-based medicine looks particularly powerful. Leaders in science are examining the body through the lens of quantum physics. They’ve discovered that we're far more than biochemical machines. Instead, our cells are senders and receivers of information, controlling our health in ways we never imagined.

Nov. 2 - The Quantum Activist

Be prepared to take a discontinuous leap. There is a revolution going on in science; a genuine paradigm shift. While mainstream science remains materialist, a substantial number of scientists are supporting and developing a paradigm based on the primacy of consciousness. Dr. Amit Goswami, Ph.D, a pioneer of this revolutionary new perspective within science shares with us his vision of the unlimited potential of consciousness as the ground of all being, and how this revelation can actually help us to live better. The Quantum Activist tells the story of a man who challenges us to rethink our very notions of existence and reality, with a force and scope not felt since Einstein. This film bridges the gap between God and Science. The work of Goswami, with stunning precision and without straying from the rigors of quantum mechanics, reveals the overarching unity inherent in the world’s major religions and mystical traditions. Winner of 4 film festival awards.

Nov. 9 - Ancient Aliens

In 1968, the Swiss author Erich von Däniken published “Chariots of the Gods”, which became an immediate bestseller (and on which this film is based upon). In it, he put forth his hypothesis that extraterrestrials with superior knowledge of science and engineering landed on Earth thousands of years ago, where they taught humans about technology and influenced ancient religions, forever changing the course of human history. He is regarded by many as the father of ancient alien theory. Most ancient alien theorists, including von Däniken, point to two types of evidence to support their ideas. The first is ancient religious texts in which humans witness and interact with gods or other heavenly beings who descend from the sky - sometimes in vehicles resembling spaceships - and possess spectacular powers. The second is physical specimens such as artwork depicting alien-like figures and ancient architectural marvels like Stonehenge and the pyramids of Egypt. They believe that, by sharing their views with the world, they can help prepare future generations for the inevitable encounter that awaits them.

Nov. 16 – 2012: Time For Change

“2012: Time for Change” presents an optimistic alternative to apocalyptic doom and gloom. Directed by Emmy Award nominee João Amorim, the film follows journalist Daniel Pinchbeck, author of the bestselling “2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl”, on a quest for a new paradigm that integrates the archaic wisdom of tribal cultures with the scientific method. As conscious agents of evolution, we can redesign post-industrial society on ecological principles to make a world that works for all. Rather than breakdown and barbarism, 2012 heralds the birth of a regenerative planetary culture where collaboration replaces competition, where exploration of psyche and spirit becomes the new cutting edge, replacing the sterile materialism that has pushed our world to the brink. Featuring: Daniel Pinchbeck, Sting, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Penny Livingston, Gilberto Gil, Dean Radin, Maude Barlow, John Todd, Buckminster Fuller, Dennis McKenna, Terence McKenna, Shiva Rea, Ellen Page, Bernard Lietaer, Paul Stamets, Richard Register, Tiokasin Ghosthorse and David Lynch.

Nov. 30 - The Nature of Existence

Have you ever wondered...

Why do we exist?

Why are we here, and what are we supposed to do about it?”

What started the Universe, and was it a mistake?

Does God exist, and why does He seem so interested in our sex lives?

After exploring the phenomenon of “Trekkies”, filmmaker Roger Nygard took on The Nature of Existence itself. Nygard brainstormed the toughest questions he could think of, about the meaning of life and then traveled the world in searching each of the world’s philosophies, religions, and belief systems - interviewing spiritual leaders, scholars, scientists, artists, pizza chefs, and others who have influenced, inspired, or freaked out humanity. Nygard’s travels highlight the words of such luminary figures as Indian Holy Man Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (The Art of Living), Evolutionary Biologist Richard Dawkins (The God Delusion), Chinese Taoist Master Zhang Chengda, Stanford physicist Leonard Susskind (Co-Discoverer of String Theory), wrestler Rob Adonis (Founder of Ultimate Christian Wrestling), confrontational evangelist Brother Jed Smock, Stonehenge Druids Rollo Maughfling & King Arthur Pendragon, and many more. Combining an investigative approach to the spiritual with a humorous edge, Nygard offers a challenging, funny, and enlightening view to one of humanity’s most universal quests, as the most important journey we ever take may be the journey to find meaning in our own existence.

Dec. 7 - Barbara Marx Hubbard Double Feature! - Humanity Ascending: Our Story & Visions of a New Humanity

Humanity Ascending: Our Story

"Our Story" is a movie that spans the history of the evolutionary journey of our species from the big bang to current times, where we find ourselves precariously standing at the edge of conscious evolution or self-destruction. Our storyteller, Barbara Marx Hubbard, provides the unique perspective of viewing our history through what she terms as "evolutionary eyes" as the unfoldment of a fourteen billion year journey of transformation that is now pressing us forward to give birth to a new, never before seen, universal humanity. This compelling vision of hope sees us at an evolutionary edge where the old world is dying and the new world is being born.

Visions of a Universal Humanity

The second video of the Humanity Ascending documentary series. Hidden beneath the breakdowns of modern society are breakthroughs that herald a radically new human condition. While most of these breakthroughs are small, yet vital incremental changes, others are clearly significant new capacities that can fundamentally change our lives forever. When we view these new capacities with ‘evolutionary eyes’ as the culmination of humanity’s 14 billion year journey from the Big Bang to where we are now, the design or pattern beneath the physical world that activates the continuous emergence of greater consciousness, freedom and order in the universe comes into sharper focus. In essence, we discover the hidden ‘Code of Evolution’. The film will take us across the ‘evolutionary gap’ from here - a warring, polluting, over-populating species on the brink of self destruction, to there - a cocreative, universal humanity at the dawn of the first Universal Age of Conscious Evolution, a future filled with infinite possibilities.

Dec. 14 - For the Next 7 Generations

In October 2004, thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers from around the world – the Amazon, Asia, Africa, Mexico, the Arctic Circle, and U.S., gathered at Tibet House’s Menla Mountain Retreat in upstate New York. They did not know one another, but each of them had heard a prophecy that called them forth. The prophecy told them that they must come together at this critical time in history and speak out to the world in one united voice to share their sacred wisdom. The Grandmothers all agreed that without finding a new way of seeing and being that echoes the ancient and time-proven earth-based traditions and practices of our indigenous peoples, we will not be able to break away from our destructive habits and create the changes necessary for our survival. In the film, we accompany the Grandmothers’ early travels to the Pojoaque Pueblo in New Mexico, to the Brazilian Amazon, and to the mountain-top village of Huautla de Jimenez in Mexico. In October 2006, they went to Dharamsala, India, the second home of our Tibetan Grandmother Tsering Dolma Gyaltong, for a private meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
