Intention began as a Y2K party. At that time it seemed plausible that new years would see the world full of chaos. We sought to create a temporary reality of our own making, (as we like to do), to gather our community and focus our intentions into the new millenium. Also undertsanding that if we all collectively took responsibility for throwing this gathering together, this sharing would be part of the depth that manifested. Creating a space of co-inspiration for a sustained time, to be among friends, to meet the friends of friends, to exist in love and creativity, with much phat music and dancing guaranteed.
It was so magikal we did it again the following year.
Intention3 will be at a new location. We have outgrown the much beloved Lake Sasamat retreat centre. The new site is Camp Elphinstone, big trees, ocean close by, 3 (very) large common rooms for dancing and activity. Cabins are heated, bunk bed styles in effect, each cabin sleeps 12.
The past two years much of our energy has been related to food. Coordinating 3 meals a day for 80+ people, acquiring the food, donations, etc. At the same time, cooking together was a big part of creating familee-style cohesion. This year, meals will be made for us by staff at the Camp. This energy is now freed to be put into what we wish.
What to expect?
Intention is what you make it. You are not paying money for a ticket to an event which promoters are putting together for your entertainment. The $128 cost of the 4 days is for site-rental and food alone. Everything else we must do together ourselves. (This is part of the fun.) Pitch in and help when needed. Share responsibility. Realistically, not everyone can be involved in the organizing. However, as always, the more you put in, the more you're likely to get out. Share your knowledge. Provide a workshop, hold a performance, contribute in a way you are inspired to. Intention seeks to accomodate as many of the visions people have as possible. What will transpire in the end is the sum of all that we have each contributed.
Intention is not a flyered event. It is spread strictly by word of mouth. It is meant for friends and the friends of friends. It is open (new friends are made/the simple unity of human beings beyond all else) yet intentional (trust being essential to depth). Welcome. But take responsibility.
We throw a party on New Years Eve. Intention's population doubles for the Night-Of party. Tickets are sold person-to-person. When tickets are made you may request them in order to invite friends. In the past, Night-Of tickets sell for $25 and include brunch the next morning. Thru selling Night-Of tickets we fund the other costs associated with the gathering.
Intention is a highly anticipated event because of (as always) the degree to which intention affects the reality that gets manifested. Four days of Being Time. Overlapping circles. Deepen friendships, make new connections. Inspire others with what you have to give. Be inspired in return. Exist as humans, how we were meant to be, how simple the unity.
