Description:
A 250 acre camp site with over 1 Km of private river front sandy beaches. Beautiful views of glaciers and waterfalls. 60 minutes from Whistler and Vancouver.
Scouters Notes:
This is a huge campground (250 acres!) & we are at the North end, fairly secluded from the rest of the site, which WILL have one other gathering at the opposite end AND be open to regular campers, who will be made aware that we have a private event & to expect loud music all night.
- 1.5 hours max drive from Vancouver, it's 16 kms off Highway 99 on Squamish Valley Road (see directions below)
- GATE is OPEN 7am to 10PM ONLY: absolutely no arrivals after 10:30pm!!!
- BRING CASH to pay for your camping fees & event ticket
- CAMP FEES: $10 per person per night will be paid as soon as you enter the campground, where you will also sign the campground waiver with Wendy/Peter, site managers. Kids under 12 are free! After you pay the campground, you will drive in for a few minutes to the farthest camp area where you will find our event greeters!
- EVENT FEES: $35 for arrival anytime between am to 10pm Friday to Sunday.
- NO CARS in our camp area: you will drop off your stuff, then take you car back a little ways to a parking area. There is VERY limited VAN/RV parking on our campsite available for those who plan on living in their Van/Truck/RV. Check with Greeters for access pass.
- WATER: you need to bring ALL your drinking/cooking water. The river water is NOT drinkable no matter what!
NOTE: Well water is also available near the entrance to the camp, but that water needs to be BOILED to be consumed.
- GARBAGE: please leave as much packaging at home, SORT your garbage (burnables, recylables, etc). Wendy will PICK UP our garbage from the entrance to our site 3-4 times a day to put in main dumpster so as to not attract the BEARS! You can also donate your recycling to the camp if you wish.
- NO NUDITY: this is a private campground & there are strict rules regarding nudity. If we want to be welcomed back to this amazing sacred land, we must take this one very seriously. Please respect these wishes, this is NOT a clothing optional event.
- BEARS: there are bears in the area, so we will need to be mindful of this, but Wendy thinks that with loud music & fire going, the usual visiting bear will stay away.
- NO FOOD IN TENTS! Please bring identified bins/containers to keep your food near the communal kitchen area so as to avoid having food all over the campground (attracting more bear attention!). We hope to provide a vehicle for safe food storage.
- NO DRUGS: this is a drug-free event!!!
- CIGARETTES: the camp prefers NO CIGARETTES, but if you must, PLEASE use a personal ashtray or the firepit! Don't let us find ONE cigarette butt on the ground or we won't be invited back!
- SWIMMING: THERE IS NO SWIMMING in the river, as the current is way too powerful!
At OUR campsite, there will be ONLY ONE CLEARLY MARKED area right at the communal kitchen where we can access the water for cooling off or wading carefully. ALL OTHER shoreline is a bug DROP OFF & DANGEROUS & should be avoided!
- 'PUBLIC' BEACH: You can leave our little event area & walk back out a bit to a nice open beach area shared with other campers. Here it is low water & you can bathe more safely close to the shore. ABSOLUTELY NO NUDITY ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE ENTIRE CAMPGROUND!!!!
- GROUND: is mostly SAND, so that will be lovely for tenting on the ground BUT expect there to be a good amount of DUST! Bring facemasks if you are sensitive. Bring as much ground cover / carpeting as you can for your campsite & communal areas!
